United Way of Mesa County, as part of the United to Solve Homelessness program, is committed to helping our community navigate towards housing stability.

Mobile Outreach

Each week a mobile outreach van with essential supplies and services will be visiting homeless encampments and isolated individuals. Outreach teams will distribute water, hygiene kits, food, and first aid, while also offering case management and connections to housing and health services. UWMC is collaborating with the City of Grand Junction Neighbor 2 Neighbor team as well as service providers from multiple organizations to ensure the outreach is effective and well rounded.

HomewardBound Showers, cooling station, case management and nursing services will be offered during select daytime hours at 2853 North Avenue. Please call 970-256-9424 for more information.

MAP Distro Tuesdays beginning 6/17/25 will be happening at 402 Grand Avenue in the parking lot from 11:00am-1:00pm.

SNC Meal and Supplies Distro Saturdays from 4:00-5:00pm at 302 South Avenue

AcuDetox

Bi-Weekly on Monday from 10:00am-10:30am
Volunteer to experience stress relief through receiving a 5-point ear acupuncture protocol during the AcuDetox Certification Training in Grand Junction. The ear acupuncture will be done by persons who are being trained but who may not be certified yet as 5-point ear acupuncture specialists. The trainees will be working under the supervision of certified 5-point ear acupuncture specialists. Possible benefits include: General feeling of well-being, improved sleep, sense of relaxation, decreased cravings for addictive substances. This service will take place at the United Way Service Hub. A Cooking Matters specialist from Hilltop Community Resources will be hosting multiple classes focused on healthy recipes. Lifeline Cell Phone Program

The Lifeline Program is a Federal Low Income Connectivity Program that helps families stay connected. *Limit one enrolled line per household. Eligibility to enroll: • U.S. Citezenship • Low income Identity proofs necessary: • Valid State or Federally Issued I.D. • Medicaid Card, SNAP Benefits Letter, SSI/SSDI Award Letter, Medicare Card, LEAP Award Letter, or Low-income Tax Documents. Emergency Tent Fire Kit Replacement (by application)

M-F from 8:00am-5:00pm
A limited number of tent kits are available for guests whose tent has burned down. To get started in the process of applying for a tent kit please call 1-800-REDCROSS or speak to Philip at the Resource Center who can assist with the process. Requirements are 1) a first responder verification of the event (fire) and that they have the name of the individual impacted. 2) that the person can provide ID to match the first responder report. 3)The event should not be more than 14 days old (some exceptions apply, please speak to Philip to be connected with American Red Cross Resources). Neighbor 2 Neighbor Outreach

Neighbor 2 Neighbor is a community referral and outreach program. Staff is available on-site and by appointment to answer questions. This service will take place at the United Way Service Hub. Please call 970-243-5364 to sign up for the service in advance, location will be disclosed upon sign up.

Pet Assistance

Approx. every 3 months
The Street Dog Coalition provides free veterinary care to pets of people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness via pop-up clinics. Free services include: physical exams, core vaccinations including rabies and parvo, fleat/tick prevention and pet food/supplies (when available). Services offered while supplies last and time allows. Limited to 2 pets per person/family. Dogs should be on leashes and cats in carriers.

Service include basic first aid, health education, disease education/management, clarification of an established medical diagnosis, referral assistance for additional medical care, vital readings and limited over-the-counter medications. A group of community volunteers providing a homestyle meal to guests. To volunteer or contribute food please visit the Facebook group for more information. This meal will be served at 111 Ute Avenue.

MAP Food Distribution Service

Weekly on Tuesday from 11:00am-1:00pm
Mutual Aid Partners (MAP) provides a weekly, free community choice food pantry, hygenie essentials, free haircuts, resource navigation and other services. Open to all members of the community, choice based allows for guests to access items individualized to them. This service will be taking place beginning 6/17/25 at 402 Grand Avenue in the parking lot.

Stimulant and Opioid Response (SOR) Peer Recovery Coaches

Peer Support

This peer support group funded by SOR provides those interested in recovery with resource and an “all recovery” group space for support. Narcan information and trainings also take place during these group meetings. This service will take place at the United Way Service Hub.
