United Way of Mesa County, as part of the United to Solve Homelessness program, is committed to helping our community navigate towards housing stability.

Mobile Outreach

United Way of Mesa County regularly visits public parks and encampments to bring water, basic hygiene supplies and resource navigation to community members experiencing homelessness. The outreach team spends time with each individual learning about what resources they need and help make service appointments. Partner agencies frequently join the team for outreach including Hilltop Community Resources, the City of Grand Junction’s Neighbor 2 Neighbor program, Peer 180, Mutual Aid Partners and more. 

Service Hub

The Service Hub is designed to build a conveniently located and expertly coordinated roster of services from community providers to empower individuals on their path to housing stability.

Other Direct Services & Locations:

MAP Distro Mutual Aid Partners (MAP) provides a weekly, free community choice food pantry, hygiene essentials, free haircuts, resource navigation and other services. Open to all members of the community, choice based allows for guests to access items individualized to them. This service takes place at 402 Grand Ave., (inside the Downtown Vineyard church gym). Please park and enter off 4th Street & Ouray Ave.

SNC Meal and Supplies Distro Saturdays from 4:00-5:00pm at 302 South Avenue. In addition to food resources community members can access supplies they may need.

Catholic Outreach Day Center (302 Pitkin Avenue)- Monday-Friday 7:00am-11:00am. 

Joseph Center Day Shelter (2511 Belford Ave. #B)- Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm

How do I sign up for a service at the Service Hub?

Please call our United to Solve Homelessness Hotline at 970-773-7230 and our outreach coordinator can help you sign up for a service. 

No. The Service Hub provides a location for service providers in the community to meet with their clients and host group therapy and health clinics (Accudetox, basic dental checks).

Yes! Our Services and Outreach Coordinator refers clients out to many community partners based on their needs. Partners we work closely with include Hilltop Community Resources, Ava Health, Health Solutions West, Center for Independence and many more!

Sunshine Community is a partner of the Service Hub. The Service Hub and Sunshine Community share a building for some services, however they are separate organizations and have separate programs. Individuals who have been successfully engaging with the Service Hub may be referred to Sunshine Community. 

The Service Hub serves 15-20 clients monthly with a focus on quality service to each client.

Mutual Aid Partners (MAP) Office Hours

Weekly on Monday 10:00am-Noon
Mutual Aid Partners hosts weekly office hours for their clients. To make an appointment for this service please call MAP directly at 970-316-2019 About Mutual Aid Partners Weekly Distribution Event: Mutual Aid Partners (MAP) provides a weekly, free community choice food pantry, hygiene essentials, free haircuts, resource navigation and other services. Pet Assistance

Bi-Monthly First Monday 11:00am-1:00pm
The Street Dog Coalition provides free veterinary care to pets of people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness via pop-up clinics. Free services include: physical exams, core vaccinations including rabies and parvo, fleat/tick prevention and pet food/supplies (when available). Services offered while supplies last and time allows. Limited to 2 pets per person/family. Dogs should be on leashes and cats in carriers. Next Clinic: Monday, June 1, 2026 11:00AM-1:00PM

Neighbor 2 Neighbor Outreach

M-F from 8:30am-5:00pm
Neighbor 2 Neighbor is a community referral and outreach program. Staff is available on-site and by appointment to answer questions. This service will take place at the United Way Service Hub. Please call 970-243-5364 to sign up for the service in advance, location will be disclosed upon sign up.

Emergency Tent Fire Kit Replacement (by application)

M-F from 8:00am-5:00pm
A limited number of tent kits are available for guests whose tent has burned down. To get started in the process of applying for a tent kit please call 1-800-REDCROSS or speak to Philip at the Resource Center who can assist with the process. Requirements are 1) a first responder verification of the event (fire) and that they have the name of the individual impacted. 2) that the person can provide ID to match the first responder report. 3)The event should not be more than 14 days old (some exceptions apply, please speak to Philip to be connected with American Red Cross Resources). Lifeline Cell Phone Program

The Lifeline Program is a Federal Low Income Connectivity Program that helps families stay connected. *Limit one enrolled line per household. Eligibility to enroll: • U.S. Citezenship • Low income Identity proofs necessary: • Valid State or Federally Issued I.D. • Medicaid Card, SNAP Benefits Letter, SSI/SSDI Award Letter, Medicare Card, LEAP Award Letter, or Low-income Tax Documents. Monthly Bike Clinic

First Tuesday of Each Month 3:00-5:00PM
The first Tuesday of each month the United Way Bike Clinic is open to the public at 1321 Ute Avenue. Volunteer bike technicians are available for basic repair and slightly used bikes are available if Service Hub participants need one. This service is in partnership with Mutual Aid Partners, Grand Valley Streets Alliance and Sunshine Community.

Students from the Dental Hygiene program at Colorado Northwestern Community College offer basic dental cleanings and evaluations.

Basic Wound Care & Health Navigation

Weekly on Wednesday from 9:00am-11:30am
The HomewardBound staff nurse will be available for basic wound care and to help refer clients to the appropriate healthcare appointments.

Sagebrush Recovery Peer Support Group

Sagebrush Recovery brings in a variety of providers for a peer support group. The sessions are focused on helping guests develop individualized plans for recovery, relapse prevention and general support. This service will take place at the United Way Service Hub.
